Daniel J. Serber is the Founder and Managing Partner of Serber & Associates, P.A. Under Mr. Serber's leadership, Serber & Associates, P.A. has expanded, diversified and extended its geographic reach, transforming from a sole practitioner domestic Florida firm to a prominent firm with several attorneys licensed to practice law in many jurisdiction in the United States and Latin America.
Mr. Serber is a frequent speaker on business and investment opportunities between the United States and Latin America where he discusses how to properly structure foreign investment in the United States in order to help reduce legal and tax liabilities. Mr. Serber has spoken at various international real estate expositions and forums, including in Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Panama, Venezuela and Mexico advising foreign nationals on real estate investments procedures, structuring and taxation.
Mr. Serber has extensive experience in a variety of aspects related to assisting foreign clients in establishing a presence in the United States. He represents clients in the corporate, commercial and real estate areas. In the corporate area, Mr. Serber represents clients in matters such as the creation of business organizations, shareholder and partner relationship structures, stock purchase agreements, asset purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, partnership agreements, and distribution agreements. Mr. Serber has considerable experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, including representation of real estate developers, preparation of condominium documents, drafting and negotiating commercial and residential purchase and sale agreements as well as commercial and residential leases. Mr. Serber has represented thousands of clients in commercial and residential real estate acquisitions and dispositions and advising clients on lending transactions.
Mr. Serber has extensive practical business management experience and has launched and successfully managed other businesses in diverse industries above and beyond his practice of law. Consequently, Mr. Serber's legal advice to his corporate clients always contains a practical business point of view.
Mr. Serber was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994 and was admitted and qualified to the Bar of the District of Columbia in 1995. In February 2000, Mr. Serber founded Serber & Associates, P.A. with its main offices located in Aventura, Florida.
Mr. Serber obtained a Juris Doctor Degree from University of Florida College of Law in 1994, and obtained a Bachelor in Business Administration in 1991 from the University of Miami, School of Business, with a double major in Legal Studies and Economics. While at the University of Florida, Mr. Serber served as President of the Spanish American Law Student Association and President of the Jewish Law Student Association, and made the University of Florida College of Law Dean's List. He also was awarded with the University of Florida College of Law "Diploma de Honor" for his leadership role and commitment to the Spanish American Law Student Association and the College of Law.

Sabrina Smulevich travels frequently through Latin America assisting foreign clients in their United States business and investment matters. Ms. Smulevich focuses her practice on corporate and real-estate law, including drafting of operating, limited partnership, and shareholder agreements, stock and asset acquisitions documents, commercial and residential leases, and organizational governance documents. Additionally, Ms. Smulevich provides clients ongoing advice on litigation matters and tax planning for real estate investments.
In 2007, Ms. Smulevich obtained her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law where she was a Thomas E. & Dorothy McDougall, Miguel G. & Nelly Farra, and George David Gold Scholar. Additionally, she was a member of the Inter American Law Review, the Arbitration Chair of the International Moot Court Board, a Writing Dean's Fellow, and earned recognition on the Dean's List for her academic performance. Ms. Smulevich represented the University of Miami twice at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition which takes place in Vienna, Austria receiving an Honorable Mention.
While attending law school, Ms. Smulevich worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Shelby Highsmith, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, was a summer associate with Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, and worked as a certified legal intern for The Eleventh Circuit Public Defender. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Smulevich was a litigator at Devine, Goodman, Rasco & Wells, a boutique law firm in Miami, where she represented clients in both federal and state court.
Ms. Smuevich received her B.A., cum laude, from Florida International University with a double major in Economics and International Relations.
She also studied law in Argentina. Her native fluency in Spanish and her knowledge of civil law enables her to work well with clients and local counsel in Argentina and different Latin American jurisdictions.
Ms. Smulevich is a member of the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Eleventh United States Circuit Court of Appeals.

Joanna heads the firm’s commercial real estate department. She represents and advises various commercial real estate developers and investors in acquisitions, sales, and refinances of office buildings, shopping centers, NNN properties, warehouses, and residential buildings. In connection with same, she negotiates purchase and sale agreements, reviews leases, reviews title and survey, prepares and responds to title objection letters, resolves title issues, prepares and/or reviews conveyance documents, and negotiates loan documents for our clients. Joanna also represents private and institutional lenders in preparing loan documentation for acquisitions, refinances, and construction loans.
Joanna completed her undergraduate studies at Georgetown University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, as part of her undergraduate studies she spent a year at the Universita degli Studi di Firenze in Florence, Italy. She further attended the University of Miami School of Law and earned her Juris Doctor in 2008. Joanna is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She also is a Florida Civil Law Notary.

Franco Tonelli is a foreign attorney working at the Buenos Aires office since 2018 to help the Firm’s clients with corporate governance matters, securities offerings, residential and commercial leases, merger and acquisitions and general commercial contracts. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
He graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, School of Law on 2015, and is licensed to practice law in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Continuing his education, on 2016 Franco obtained a post-graduate degree in Economics and Finance for lawyers from Universitat Pompeu Fabrá de Barcelona, and on 2018 he received a Master’s degree in Law (LLM), with a focus on Business and Securities Regulation, from University of California at Los Angeles.
Prior to joining Serber & Associates P.A. Franco worked as an attorney in Argentina, specializing in securities regulation, financial institutions, commercial contracts and general corporate advice.

Tatiana Barrera is the office manager for Serber & Associates, P.A. Ms. Barrera is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the office, including financial management and staff management. Ms. Barrera has more than 10 years of professional experience in law firm administration with an emphasis on human resources, employee relations, recruiting, personnel development, and team building.

Amanda is an associate attorney at Serber & Associates, P.A., where she focuses on both commercial and residential real estate transactions. She is an excellent communicator and is focused on guiding clients through the purchase and sale process. Prior to joining Serber and Associates, Amanda completed her undergraduate degree from Florida State University where she double majored in political science and sport management. She graduated magna cum laude in 2020. She then worked at the Unified Children’s Court in Miami, Florida, for one year prior to attending law school. Amand then attended law school at the University of Miami School of Law. During her time at the University of Miami, Amanda was selected to be a summer associate at Serber & Associates P.A. between her 2L and 3L year. Upon completion of the summer Amanda was extended an offer to remain at the firm after graduation. In the summer of 2025, Amanda graduated from the University of Miami and was admitted to the Florida Bar.

A highly dynamic attorney, Marycarmen plays a pivotal role in the commercial and residential real estate and corporate law departments at the firm, guiding domestic and foreign clients through a wide range of legal challenges with ease and attention to detail. She is involved in all aspects of a business transaction, including preparation and negotiation of agreements and commercial and residential leases, loan documents, condominium association documents, and corporate governance matters, actively resolving issues and facilitating smooth transactions.
Prior to joining the firm as Partner, Marycarmen served as associate in-house counsel for a multi-family real estate developer in Miami, participating in large-scale projects, including the acquisition and disposition of real estate property. Her legal acumen is diverse, having worked in the areas of commercial litigation and civil litigation, where she began her legal career as a trial attorney for the Florida Department of Children Families, handling high-conflict dependency cases before the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
Marycarmen completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and earned her Juris Doctor in 2011 from St. Thomas University School of Law. In addition to the practice of law, Marycarmen is a member of The Florida Bar’s International Law Section. Her hard work and dedication as an attorney have been recognized, being named a 2021-2022 Rising Star in Florida Super Lawyers’. Born in Havana, Cuba, Marycarmen is fluent in Spanish.

Sebastian Mandell is an Associate Attorney at Serber & Associates, P.A., where he focuses his practice on corporate law. In addition, Sebastian has experience in commercial leasing matters, representing both landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating lease agreements.
Sebastian earned his Juris Doctor and LL.M. in Sports Law from the University of Miami School of Law in 2024 and was admitted to the Florida Bar shortly thereafter. During his legal studies, he gained valuable experience working with the University of Miami's Athletic Compliance Department, as well as with professional sports organizations including the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Red Bulls. He received his undergraduate degree in Marketing from Michigan State University.
